This compass is a smart compass with a built-in MEMS sensor, and a power supply is essential. The compass has built-in LED lighting which turns on when it is powered. This compass is self-adaptive and has no difference using in the northern and southern hemispheres.

The CFI compass is designed to fit in various positions within the cockpit . This compass delivers extremely accurate readings due to its fully integrated, 4 magnet compensators. The CFI compass has a high-visibility spherical display, and can be viewed over a 140º arc instead of the standard 90º. Fits standard 2-1/4" panel hole (by 2-1/4" deep) and weighs only 30% of a typical liquid compass. No kerosene or alcohol to leak or rubber diaphragms to eventually crack.

The CFI compass supplies two sets of high lighteness LED illuminating device, including one backup device. If the default illuminating device failure, the user can use the backup one. No need to replace illuminating device during the lifespan of the compass.
